German
German is the most widely spoken language in Europe and one of the most common foreign languages people learn in Great Britain. Learning this language will not only provide you with easy access to a vast network of German speakers and new holiday destinations that are only a 2 hour flight away but it will also let you benefit from many events organised regionally. Whether you go to the Leeds German Speakers' Stammtisch or join one of the Selby events with its twin town Filderstadt, you will be immediately able to practice what you learned in class.
Group Lessons
Group lessons are often the most enjoyable way to learn a new language and German is no exception. Whether you want to learn German together with your friends or organise a course for your company we will work with you to find a solution that meets your needs. This is also the cheapest way to learn this language with an hourly price of only £10 per person if you organise a course for 4 or more people. Smaller group sizes are also possible which are cheaper than private classes for the individual but to get the cheapest price you need to sign up as a group of at least 4 people. We generally run group classes from our home address (56 the Haven, Selby, YO8 8BJ) but can meet you elsewhere i.e. directly on site if you want to run a course for your company (although we do charge for travelling time in this case). If you would like to hire an office space for the duration of the course then you will need to pay for the venue in addition to the course.
Private Lessons
Private lessons are the best way to learn a foreign language quickly as we can focus exactly on what you need to work on to advance. You can choose the time and day that suits you best and you can cancel the course at any time without incurring any charges. Private lessons cost £25 per hour for one person but if you would like to have a private lesson for more than one person then this rate will be reduced (please see the pricing page for details).
We generally prefer to hold lessons at our home address (56 the Haven, Selby, YO8 8BJ) but can meet you at your own home if it is within a reasonable travelling distance although we will have to charge you for the travelling time in addition to the course (please see the pricing page for details).
Translations
We can translate texts from German to English or vice versa at our standard rate of £0.10 per word. Highly specialised documents will incur a higher rate to account for the additional research efforts required. Translations into other languages we teach are also possible but will require a higher rate per word. For all translation services please send us the relevant text either via email or the contact form on our contact page and we will send a price proposal of how much we would charge for translating your document into the relevant language and an estimate of when we will be able to provide the translation by and you can then decide whether you would like us to go ahead with the translation for the quoted price.
Please be aware that we do not currently offer certified translations of any kind.
