Spanish

Spanish has the second highest number of native speakers in the world and is the most popular choice in the UK for adults wanting to learn a foreign language.

With its amazing food,  architecture and culture, Spain has long been the UK's number one holiday destination with islands such as Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca and Tenerife being among the first choices. It helps that they are often the cheapest and closest places to go to in order to catch some sun even in the winter.

But you do not need to travel abroad to speak the language. There are plenty of Spanish language meetups and exchanges in the region and the widespread tapas restaurants let you sample the food right at your doorstep. The popularity of salsa dancing is constantly growing in the UK adding to the many facets of Latin American culture you can now experience in your vicinity and driving an increasing number of people to visit more exotic countries such as Cuba. This island is one of many hidden jewels in the Spanish speaking world which are hardly touched by Americanisation, but what many view as a welcoming change in their holiday ambience has one small side effect: You will not get very far without learning some Spanish first.

Group Lessons

Group lessons are often the most enjoyable way to learn a new language and Spanish is no exception. Whether you want to learn Spanish together with your friends or organise a course for your company we will work with you to find a solution that meets your needs. This is also the cheapest way to learn this language with an hourly price of only £10 per person if you organise a course for 4 or more people. Smaller group sizes are also possible which are cheaper than private classes for the individual but to get the cheapest price you need to sign up as a group of at least 4 people. Please consult our Prices & Payment page for exact details.

We generally run group classes from our home address (56 the Haven, Selby, YO8 8BJ) but can meet you elsewhere i.e. directly on site if you want to run a course for your company (although we do charge for travelling time in this case). If you would like to hire an office space for the duration of the course then you will need to pay for the venue in addition to the course.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are the best way to learn a foreign language quickly as we can focus exactly on what you need to work on to advance. If you have other friends who are at your level of speaking, we can even organise private group lessons for you which gives you all the benefits of normal group lessons with the addition of being able to choose the time and day that suits you best and doing something fun with your friends. Private lessons cost £25 per hour for one person but if you would like to have a private lesson for more than one person then this rate will be reduced (please see the pricing page for details).

We generally prefer to hold lessons at our home address (56 the Haven, Selby, YO8 8BJ) but can meet you at your own home if it is within a reasonable travelling distance although we will have to charge you for the travelling time in addition to the course (please see the pricing page for details).

Translations

We currently do not support Spanish translations in the same way as we support the other languages we teach. However, if you send us your text via our email address or contact form on our contact page we will let you know whether we are able to provide the translation for you. In case our translators are available we will make a price proposal of how much we would charge for translating your document into the relevant language and an estimate of when we will be able to provide the translation by and you can then decide whether you would like us to go ahead with the translation for the quoted price.

Please be aware that we do not currently offer certified translations of any kind.
